Auto X'ed the 87 today

Well, my shop sponsored an SCCA event today, so you know I had to drag the 87 out to give her a good run. I had a BLAST! Shaved 6 secs off my first time till i was running with a couple of v8 mustangs. I kinda got laughed at (i cried on the inside) until I put up or shut up, Unfortunately my 2.8 stayed together today, I dont know if I can try any harder to kill it (Im pretty sure I spun it up past 6k at one point in time

Nope. I pushed it as hard as I could and still had the oversteer very manageable. That is actually the hardest ive run this truck and was VERY impressed with the potenza tires I was runing

Not sure if im still going to do the 383. Thinking either a 355 now or possibly a 3.4l camaro motor. Im addicted to this stuff now. Its not gonna be a straight line truck..its made for the twisties

I personaly like the 3.4 idea. It will make it even more fun to woop up on those V8 Rustangs. I have plans on auto crossing my truck someday (whenever it gets done).

I know, and the camera i used had vid capabilites, but I didnt think of it while I was there (other things on the mind) and when I did later, I had gotten busy back at work, so I had to watch other people have fun.

Pretty neat. You know, Tommy, an LS1/LS6 weighs less than a 4.3.. maybe even less than a 3.4. Less weight & double the hp.. just a thought.

umm i know the whole autocrossing thing in a late 80's s1o... but around here and iowa we just dodge potholes and cows and deer, i wish they painted all of those orange. either way, i've autocrossed my T, loved it, and am way addicted to it. the fun stuff though is doing it with a tanka$$ big block under the hood. it'll put hair on your chest...

That's my boy. Racing a the drag strip is cool and all, but I've always enjoyed haulin' ass thru the turns.

35 bucks...which I got for free becaus my shop sponsored the event.

They had loaner helmets there. Ive been on a regional board trying to get myself into a class so I can do this more competively. Right now im running Solo 2 Modified

Sweet. I can score a helmet I think. Need to go get a set of 235/50 18's for the rear. Strangely enough, mine are as bald as a sorority chick. Dunno how that happens.

I know the first weekend of August I'll be in Arkansas. My pop has cancer and I'll be checking in on him, but I'm open after that. Plus I can tweak your roommates ride now with the recent update I have.
