If I was ever in the financial position to do so I'd have a sy in a heartbeat! I've been lurking over on syty.net for a while now and I can't believe the power some of those guys are making in street legal trucks. For some reason there's piles of them in Edmonton too?

There was a guy in Gainesville area that had a Sy and a Ty. Sy was mint and the Ty was too but he raced the Ty. At the speedway down there watching it on test n tune night, it was rediculous watching the front of the truck lift up in the air so quickly, yet settle out and blast down the 1320.
I saw this one on ebay with 4.5k miles on it few months ago:

Not sure if the pics work but it was minter than a mint

There were two Tys for sale on ebay.uk about a month or two ago. They had been bought here shipped to the uk and being resold there. Dont know what they went for but its a shame they got sent over the pond.

I had one of those 454ss come in to me on a hook, I love em... a big block in a reg cab short bed! all it needed was an alternator, I didn't even charge him to put it in.
on the topic of the SyTy, there's a gal in my town with a black Ty I see going up and down the hwy.... never bookin it, just flowing with traffic.

BTW all there's one of these bad boys floating around Carisle PA near a cornfield. It was for sale by owner, first one i've ever seen. It was the pickup in black w/ a white hood. Snagged a camera phone pic as I was driving by but you can't read the cell #. Looked in good condition other than the replaced hood though, had a car club sticker on it thou so I bet it was run hard.
Neat to see one for once thou

Edmonton is rotten with sy's and ty's - there's probably at least a dozen that i can think of off the top of my head. There's one guy here that's got 4-5 ty's and a sy. Campbell Automotive has one of the best sy/ty tuners anywhere so people can keep them running pretty easily here. They're not exactly known for their reliability! I had a good look at a white/white typhoon when I was there on tuesday. they're really not much to look at on the inside but that's not important

Being in detroit - THe motor city and all... i've honestly never seen a SY/TY rolling around here. I have seen *ONE* s-10 pickup 454ss but that was years ago up north in the chevy dealer (Scheer Motors) in grayling where we bought our first s10 back in '89.

We got one here in Clarksville a Typhoon that is I never seen it out but the guy used to bring it to our 1/8th mile track and had little competition I think it is just a garage queen now...I'm hoping to pick one up when I get back from Afghanistan in 09 for under 10k with decent miles on it =]

Ive seen both the Sy and Ty and a bunch of the 454 SS truck. They had some good kneck snapping torque but were **** for power.I helped a guy remove the 400 tranny and put in a built 700R4.It helped it out big big time.It had that really low first gear known for the 700's and it had 3.73 gears. That thing would scoot after that swap.Having no overdrive in those 454 SS trucks were hell on gas right off the lot.It should have had a strong built 700 from the get go.I would like to find one and do a custom build on it.They were nice trucks.

answered my own question - 16953 produced between 1990 and 1993

93s had the SS after 454 in a slashing manner. Like this http://www.454ss.com/gallery/snapshots/KRODRIGUE.JPG Black was the most produced color. But White and Red were also availible. Pretty sure that was it in coor options. Also the Silverado Sport, which was the 350 version, is a nice find. Body moulding had more red stripes and the sport decal on the back. Other than that its the same. Sierra and Yukon GT were also nice hard 2 find trucks. Sierra GT could be had in alot of colors. Theres a real nice prestine Sierra GT here in the lighter blue metallic color. The Sierras were availible in 4wd and I think Silvy Sports were too.

That poor guy made the title "1991 GMC: Sonoma Sonoma". So if someone wasn't looking at subtitles or pictures, they wouldn't even realize that it was a syclone. Now his reserve might not be met or he might not get what he really should have for the truck. This is just another example of carefully creating listings on ebay.

Yeah, that'd be a sweet buy. Only thing is that the reserve wasn't met so who knows how high his reserve was.

For as rough as that truck looks, I would have to say the motor is no better off. But hey if you want me to take a crap in a box and slaps some wheels on it, I would sell it on ebay. LOL

I was on the Highway here in Ontario Canada today, Hwy 402, between Delaware and Strathroy, headed westbound, when I see a Typhoon headed eastbound. Two cars behind the Typhoon was a Cyclone. Damn near creamed my pants right then and there.

I think they're similar to a regular 4.3 S10 when they're not in boost. Probably in the high teens for MPG
