i got 2 viair 450 compressors and im not sure if they are working properly. I have 2 5 gallon tanks and it take prolly round 10-15 mins for them to be filled. Is this wrong? What should i do?

they should not take 10-15 min to fill 10 gal. with 2 450's. are you sure you have enough juice going to them? also check for leaks

actually from 0psi 10 minutes is about right depending on what pressure he's trying to reach, i'd say if it's about 130psi then yeah expect about 10 minutes or more filling 10 gallons with 2 450cs
check and see if they are 24v comps.they'll work off 12v, but slow. if they are hook them up to 24v it should work better.
you will need to add a battery to do this and posibly a bigger alt if your still running the stock 105amp alt.

Are they filling from 0psi? if they are you should add a presure switch so that they will automatically start refilling instead of running all the way out of air.

yea its from 0 psi, and i got a pressure switch, but i wired through my ignition becase i dont want them running with my truck off, for fear of dead battery. Im in the process of upgrading to a 235 amp alt and a optima yellow top.

10 - 15 mins? feel lucky! haha
I just have 1 on 12 gals and it takes 3 or 4 days it seems. But thats why engine driven comps were made...

lol i wasnt really complaing too much i guess, i was on the pot the other day reading mini truckin, and i noticed that it said in an ad that the 450s can fill a 5 gall tank in like 2mins 11 secs or some bs like that. I almost crapped my pants when i read that cause it takes me so long, but then i realized i didnt have any pants on. lol

Yeah, I know. I only had this one 12v compressor when I had a 5 gallon tank. When I upgraded to 12 I had full intetions to use strictly the engine driven with the 12v as a standby. When I fill my tank initially, I get it to 90 psi with my garage compressor, and then let the almight 450 do the rest of the work, haha.
