Does anybody know much about them??? Are they any good????? They cost around $170. They are the only aftermarket headers i could find for the 2.2 litrehttp://minitruckinweb.com/tech/engine/0601mt_15_z+chevrolet_s10_four_cylinder_performanc e_part+pace_setter_headers.jpg (http://javascript:Zoom('http://minitruckinweb.com/tech/engine/0601mt_15_z+chevrolet_s10_four_cylinder_performanc e_part+pace_setter_headers.jpg',640,480))

Ive never personally liked Pacesetter, but from what Ive heard recently, they are made much better than they had in the past. The black paints going to burn right off, so it would be wise to consider and setup having them "coated" before you get them installed. OBX makes a 2.2 set in stainless steel. It too will discolor but last longer than mild steel. But also cost more. There is a guy on E-Bay selling the same Pacesetters for $160 with free shipping FYI. Monza is another brand...but I dont know much about them either.

Yeah its pretty nasty when the paint burns off and looks really bad...if yo ubuy them I would suggest getting some exhaust wrap. Hp wise I am not sure, but the car I installed them on seemed to give mild gains 7-10 tops

Wrappin's a no-no on a street app! The wrap will wick moisture from the rain & make the mild steel rust faster! Play it smart and get the coating instead, 'cause that's the way to go w/mild steel.

They should come with a gasket. I think.

If you plan on buying the Pacesetter header, go with their ceramic coated header. Its a little more money, but worth it.

DO NOT USE A PACESETTER! They burn clutch lines and don't fit right not worth the money. A lot of guys have to fab them to fit right. Go with the OBX, or Kamikaze.

Lol well my experience with them was bad. The header pipe goes down at the wrong angle and is too close to the clutch line.. as the last poster said. I've got pics up on a thread somewhere around here of what i had to do after i replaced my clutch line. I wrapped both the header and the line at the point where it was touching in exhaust wrap. So far no problems after 2-3 months. But i still don't really trust it... who knows if it'll get too hot one day or another problem arises from it. but oh well I"m not about to try and mess with it anymore. I'll probably sell it before i end up changing out headers again.

Yes these things SUCK. Don't waste your money on them.

Anything with a ceramic coat will work better for you, dont' wrap them if there for street, and what ever headers you buy if it says paint, don't get them.
and Stainless works good also, it will discolor due to the high heat but it won't rust and look like Crap. just my 2 pennies.

Try Al's Headers. They make one that's a total wake-up for the LN2, and it's made to order (No over-stock).

I've heard that's the way to go for the 2.2; a lot better than any other brand, but I don't think it's C.A.R.B. approved, event though it has an O2 sensor bung. I believe that Pacesetter is your only option for an emissions legal header, sucks, because I have not heard great things from their products....contact Al's Header & Fabrication @ (714) 630-1833 and find out. Having tried the Pacesetter Header and also the OBX header I can say that the Pacesetter sucks!!!! It didn't fit well, didn't last long, and is overall bad quality. The OBX on the other hand installed easily and have had no problems with it in over 2 years now.

YEP. I JUST ordered a KamiKaze header on thursday. ALot of guys at s10forum.com are trying the OBX header.. not sold on it in the least, at least it IS stainless... but follows the same design as the pacesetter headers.. Fuxsthem..

No Kamikaze as they are (I am 99% sure) a gone company.

I ordered the OBX header instead. Should be in on the 26th. I can't wait to change this **** out. I hate the job as I have done it 5 times now with the pace setter headers.. they should be shot btw..

I had the pacesetters on my 98 tutu truck and was very happy with them.

nope pacesetter is junk. SORRY. Kamakazee is still around and Yes I did install the obx header.

Anywho I had to repair the pacesetter due to it rotting out at the collector, then it just developed a hole in the back/bottom side of the header. The gases nearly killed me. If you like them.. GREAT.. but they really are dangerous junk.

Thats some serious rust..... Were they ceramic coated? My brother came by today with my old 98 dime and the pacesetter headers that are on it have over 60k miles since they were put on and still look brand new.

I've heard how harsh those Cali IM240 tests are...Makes me glad I live in the far-SW-'burbs of Chicago. They don't even bother with the hood... Just plug-in to the ALDL & check for codes. Heck... In the last few years, all pre-'96 vehicles have been permanently exempted from any testing! Too-bad the roads are so shoddy & salt gets used in the winter. Guess you can't win them all.
