About 2 months ago my driveshaft and I were seperated. I have a 2002 s10 Blazer and couldn't afford a new one. My solution was to kick it into 4 wheel high and keep rolling (stupid I know). Early last week it quit rolling altogether along the side of the interstate. I had it towed to a local dealer who replaced my driveshaft and lightned my wallet to the tune of $900. I got it back yesterday as the dealership closed and the transfer case (in 2 wheel drive sounds like a bicycle tire with a popcycle stick in the spokes. I need to continue my interstate journey about a thousand miles from where i am now. Can anyone tell me whats making the noise and is it reasonably safe to drive? Thanks in advance for any help.

Sounds like semi-engagement. Have you tried to engage the 4wd modes?

Changing it would be my 1st step. Then try to engage it

should just take atf i believe....some might use gear oil though....
As long as it doesn't have auto 4wd, it takes ATF, but the Auto 4wd transfer cases take special fluid, avalible only from GM unfortunately.
