I have an old, complete, astroflex 1100 setup, and i need an installation guide. Used to have the pdf, but its gone....
Anybody have the 1100 install guide, or at least, dip settings and programming instructions?
Thanks

Cool thanks man. 1st link no good, 2nd has owners manual. I found my already printed pdf from 2 years ago though, and got'er done. works nice. thanks for the reply.
Oh yeah, anybody know if the 1100 has any type of anti-theft features like starter inhibit or horn beep upon armed entry, etc? There is no shock sensor support and it seems like its strictly a remote-start/rke unit, but maybe somebody knows otherwise.

AstroFlex is an overseas company. They make different modles of r.starts and alarms. Yes, DEI is Directed Electronics. They make the Viper, Sidewinder, Hornet, YourValet and a few other of their brands. About 6 years ago thay bought out the failing Clifford company and also the Avital brand. Clifford had been world renouwned for excellence and they just went financially south and their quality degraded. I know...I used to sell/install them. DEI also got into the car audio business. They bought out Orion, PPI, ADS and a few other brands that were slipping into bankruptcy. They used that to start their own audio line too. Since then they have gotten into mobile video, sat radio and home audio. http://www.directed.com/ There are a few differences in opinion about weather they inproved on some of the brands they bought. The Clifford and Avital brands they did a remarkable job at scraping those out of the ****ter. Orion and PPI its a different story. To be fair, though, they did what was nessesary. Any brands that go from prime status to being made overseas and cutting quality are not going to be as good as they were. Orion in particular had its faithful followers, like me, who were dissapointed at the performance and style of the new stuff. But in retrospect, if they had not done that, the name and brand wouldve died. I still dont care too much for the new PPI and Orion lines. so Ill keep on rockin the classics like my HCCA225 and XTR250 =) They also bought Polk Audio recently too. IMO, Directed does make the BEST alarms, remote start and keyless entrys! Their Directed audio brand is great for the price. And above all, they keep up with technology and intergration of the OEM. If you ever need a Bypass module for an alarm to intergrate into a vehicle, get the DirectedEssentials product. Ive tried other brands and have been dissapointed. Thats my .02 cents =)

Cool, some good info Mikz
Blazer69 ... the astroflex/astrostart 1100 is just a remote start/keyless entry unit, but there are some wires from the unit like horn(-), antitheft(-) when armed, but they may be just for compatability with factory alarm systems. not sure. Not too worried about it, its a good unit and works great, i just dont think it has any alarm integration at all. unless somebody can tell me otherwise
