WTB/ISO '85-91 Astro/Safari cargo van

That's right, I'm lookin for another Astro for winter. I'd like this one to be the short bus, no dutch doors, no conversion van, I want a work van.. all the windows blocked out would be perfect or the rear side blocked out would also be taken into consideration, 4.3L w/ the auto trans.. please no 4wd, would like the body to be in decent shape.. paint & interior can be hashed but no huge dents or rust, superfisical front end damage is ok though.. so long as the frame isn't bent. I don't care about mileage too much, so long as the trans is cool because I'd be droppin a V8 in there & doing a '95-up front clip conversion. Get the idea I'd like one kinda cheap?? I'd like to spend between $100-$500.

hahaha.. no Love Machine II, but the thought did come to mind. Mike, I have the video of that phone call to the shop at home Dell sale of the guy callin about lovin his Dell because 'it's great for porno!'. I'd just want somethin for the winter, since I may be workin at a Home Depot subsidiary makin doors, windows & the like.. huge warehouse & parking is kinda scramble because the semis need to get in ( I had the interview there Monday afternoon) & I'd rather someone hit an astro instead of an s10.. haha, but I won't know, or hold my breath, until I actually get a pay check. haha

I guess someone posted up something about the dell=porno in the funny vids forum. I'm havin a PITA since I reloaded my computer ( yes, my old pc is back).. tons of pop ups & whatnot & it makes it a total ***** to navigate the interweb. Yea, in the ad it read 'fab center'..well, the ad also had down that I'd be gettin pipe from the yard on a forklift & then threading it, cutting it &/or welding it.. not at all what this job's about.

Well, I've got great news.. I didn't get the job. They decided that since I have a misdmr arrest from 3 yrs ago that I can't work in their warehouse. Personally, I think it's because I'm white.. I walked in there & was one of 4 white people in the whole place. Oh well, maybe by the end of next month I can find a company that's willing to hire a white man w/ a single, minor arrest.. cross your fingers for me. haha

They cant do that. Tell them you need to see their hiring standards for the company. Only felonies are legit for a non-hire and most look into that. Stealing, violence and stuff like that are usually what they are looking for. You can get a DUI misdemenor and still get a job. If that were the case, then Tallahasse (which is primarily a college town) (FSU, TCC, FAMU, Keiser, branche of NFCC) would have alot of jobless students! Best Buy is 95% college students here. They have a prety strict hire process, but have hired felons B4 as long as it wasnt something that would be a problem in retail.

In IL they can choose not to hire or fire you w/out reason. I know it's stupid. It's not the 1st place that's done that to me.. it's about the 3rd or 4th that's verbalized it. In the interview I asked about the standards & the interviewer told me they do it to weed out the violent offenders. Fleeing & eluding is not a violent offence.. aggrevated F&E is & it's also a felony, but I don't have that charge against me so I don't see the problem..

I'm sorry you didn't get the job. This country is so ****ed, let all the foreigners in and take the jobs (no back ground check for them since half of them are illegal) send aid to other countries while we have people here that need help. so pissed right now :rant:

You know, a SBC will swap into an M-van. You just need to get the kit & G-van dipsticks 'n' tubes. Hell, the entire engine/trans/ECM setup from a G-van will swap right into a '95 once you've got the kit's mounts. And headers for any GM pre-'96 Class "C" chassis motorhome will work perfectly.

Mmhmmm, I've got the mounts here & had the camaro headers (that I later got rid of) to do the swap because that was in the plans for the other astro I had.
