About two or three months ago I purchased a set of 18 inch ultra platinum hot schott wheels. I was tired of the stock wheels on my 2000 s10. You know the ones I'm talking about Im sure. Well anyway, I was happily driving around town today and I decided to stop and visit a friend who works at a bank.
As I was leaving the parking lot I misjudged my right turn and heard a horrible thud followed by a loud scratch come from my rear right tire. I immediately pulled back into the parking lot and went to the rear of my truck all the while my heart is beating like crazy. Upon first inspection there didnt seem to be anything wrong, but as I got closer I realized that I had scraped a piece of my tire off along with badly damaging my rim wall in two places. After throwing up in the parking lot(literally)
I went back to the tire shop to see if I had retained any warranty on the wheels. I found out that there was a warranty but it didnt cover accidental damage by the owner. I asked the tire guy if I could perhaps order another wheel to replace the damaged one. I was stunned to find out that the particular model I had was discontinued. So basically Im up sh** creek with out a paddle. He said he barely noticed it until i pointed it out to him. I am not content to ride on a damaged rim especially a chrome one. Im sure none of you would be. In conclusion I just want to warn any potential wheel buyers out there to do some research on the wheel style you want. Now that I look back on it I could have saved the money I spent on my wheels and used it to drop my truck. I guess this is the price I must pay for wanting to look cool and not being more careful. I hope this hasnt happened to anyone else. If it has I know how you feel. :(

i got one better. I bought my blazer with some 18" niches on it. He said everything on the car was cool ntohing wrong. About a week into me having it, i noticed my rear passenger tire kept going flat. i was like wtf. I took it to the tire shop and decided to get some new tires( the ones that were on there were getting pretty bad). after they installed all 4 new tires, that wheel imediatly went flat while i was getting my paperwork done. I told them and they pulled it off and checked it out. After about 10 minutes the Owner of the tire store came up to me and said they could not finish putting the new tires on my car and my money would be refunded. They took me out to look at the wheel and the mother ****er was cracked. The guy that sold me the car had somehow cracked the rim, and tried to RE-WELD IT himself!!!. so needless to say i have had those rims in my garage for about 2 years now debating on what to do with them. I never got ahold of the guy who sold me the blazer... but i see him from time to time driving around.

I got a good one for y'all I had just bought a set of 18" inch enkei enzo milanos a couple years ago so me and my friend went for the first cruise through town with them. Well we a coming across the railroad tracks on the main street in town when the front left wheel flyes off my truck lays frame and the wheel hits and crub and cracks. my friend didn't tighten the lugs again after the let the truck off the jack. so the wheel was ruined and they were discontinued ofcoarse. So luckily I knew a guy that owned a wheel shop and luckily he got a hold of my 2-20"s enzos and then I had 18's and 20's so it wasn't too bad.

Been there done that.I had a wheel mutilated on my old Z28 I sold here a few months back. The tire went low real fast from a puncture and by the time I got to were I could pull off and stop the tire had rolled off the rim and destroyed the rim.Thank goodness it was just a factory wheel. It still cost me 80 bucks just for one rim.
