nasty nosie in compressor...

Ok I have been having a squeeling nosie almost sounds like a slipping belt from my ac for a while now.
I was driving along and it came to me that it could be the belt
So just earlier i popped the hood turned on the ac and reved the engine at the throttle body. Its not the belt sounds like maybe an overload in the compressor or the compressor is just getting ready to go out.
Not happy about that!!!!!
Any ideas? what does a compressor cost ball park?

Thats not too bad.... It could be worse.
Have you had any experience with the compressors going out?
Mine has been doing it for a year now

Nope, I pulled my whole a/c system out & sold it for around $85 (including s&h) to someone that came to the Planet.. I just wanted it gone & needed cash after I lost my job. If I had another system I'd sell it for another couple $$.. for obvious reasons. haha
Sounds like you're on track.. bearings could have frozen up in the compressor or clutch.

Ac still works great ice cold and freezes me out... I def need it cause i live in humid hot florida
I think they could be on their way out it only does it at a certain rpm and then when the motor slows down it goes away
It really depends on how i drive it to if it makes the noise
