I beg to differ, clutch kits are available for a lot of compressors. I replaced two of them so far, one on my 97 Ram 3500 Diesel and one a 95 S10 Blazer.
Comes with clutch and magnet assy.

actualyl rorytek is correct. The clutch itself is a replaceable unit, BUT 99% of the time, it goes out due to a failed compressor. the other 1% is because of a faulty relay not providing enough power to adequately lock the compressor (fords were BAAAADDDD about this in the mid 90's)

I went to autozone yesterday and they have it for a hundred bucks
My compressor still works just fine it blows ice cold so damn cold it freezes me out
They guy there said that there were supposed to be spacers between the plate and magnet anyone hear about that?

Do you guys know much about the clutch replacement?

Interesting about the replacement clutch. For my 2003 three dealerships in KC, one in Lawrence and one in Topeka stated that on the '03's the whole clutch\compressor comes as one assembly.

Good to know that ignorance runs rampant thru this part of the state.

Odd cause I have found a few places that sell either they whole assembly or the clutch alone...
I agree about the ignorance tho, have you heard about the spacers?

I am really not sure, the guy at autozone told me about them and that they can be a pain in the butt. cause they go inbetween the plate and magnet or somthing like that and if u dont get it right they will make noise
And then will need to be redone till its right
