Hi,
I finally drove my truck home and got some pics today. I'll be doing my own thing to it soon enough.

Very nice. What are your plans for it?

If his plans are similar to mine he'd better get some money and know some people.
Nice Z, same year as mine.
Im amazed its not "sticker slapped" with "ZR2" on the rear sides
this reminds me I need to get some updated photos of my Z
I've added 2 lights in the grille and got new black altezza tail lights.
Please for the love of god, use the Z for the reason it was built... go off-roading and break its verginity to mud... and SHOW pics

Mine too.
Go with Flowmaster 40 or super 40
I'll take Ideas for off-road rims. But the Z has 6" BS. what to do?
Thanks for all the comments! I am loving this truck!
I have a lot of things I want to do to it.
Coming Soon:
-I just ordered the American Flag ZR2 decals for the sides. http://www.arcadeguy.net/ZR2a.jpg
-I want new rims... I am still deciding and the 6" BS is killing me in my search!!! Who makes them and has an online catalog I can look through?
-EXHAUST!!! It's way too quiet... I was thinking glass packs, but listening to MANY vids on YouTube has me wondering which way to go. Those vids make almost every exhaust sound nearly the same. I do want duals out the back and I want the tone as deep as possible.(looking for advice here)
Coming Later:
-Looking at the stick-on hood scoops. Lund makes a cool looking cowl type.... maybe...(thoughts?)
-Thinking about dual stripes. On a 4x4? Still undecided.
-Chrome cold air intake pipes with K&N filter.(kits for sale on ebay)
-Fog lights... undecided on type & mounting location.(thoughts?)
-New spare tire cover(mine is missing)
-I am taking my JVC Exad touchscreen head unit out of my Ranger and putting it in the Blazer. Going to upgrade the GM speakers eventually too.
-this list is getting to freakin' long!! LOL
I am going to get some mud on it soon. I am still getting the feel for the truck. I've been driving Fords for the last 15 years and it is truly different driving a Chevy again. Not better or worse, just a different feel to the way it handles.
I've had so many Ford 4x4's in my life... I've just never got them dirty. LOL I had an old Chevy K20 and pulled stumps with it and did a little 4 wheelin' briefly with it. It was my work truck and loved playing with it.
Again, thanks for all the comments and I do appreciate your thoughts as well.

You'll be pleased with the way the ZR2's handle off-road. I know I was! I wanted ZR2 decals on my truck when I first got it, but now I like the plain sleek look...i'm even going to eventually shave the rest of the s10/chevrolet emblems...hehe...sounds like you're gonna have fun with the new ride :-] My boyfriend has a Ford Ranger 01' I have the Chevy S10 01' and yes they do drive pretty differently. There's different things I like in each truck. But I love my ZR2 :-]
Well wait until you see my decals on it before you go shaving everything off yours. hehe I love monochromatic schemes, but think you need something to break up all that plain. Exactly.. so you know what I mean about driving different. Yea, the Ford has some nice amenities but so does the Chevy. Wish I could merge my favorites. :)

GLASSPACK IS A NO-NO. dont do it!
Just be a truck person and get a deep melow Flowmaster 40 or super 40
do a search on those.
Dont get a fart can or a ricer muffler

lol it's all good i've seen lots of zr2's with decals. I was thinking about getting some custom made ZR2 aluminum emblems and putting them on the doors in place of the s10 emblems...or maybe just getting one and putting it on the bottom right corner of the tailgate..not sure yet. I think it would look nice.
But hey everyone has their opinions and I still think your BlaZeR2 is going to look badazz(considering it already does!) :-] Can't wait to see some pics of it all covered in mud hehe

x1 go with a flowmaster 40series single in dual out or go for a new one and get the super 44 they make now that is also single in dual out since it is their best one yet...

My new exhaust. I'm very satisfied with it. I have 2.5" Single In, 2.25" Dual out into 3" Stainless Tips with a Flowmaster Deta Flow 44 Muffler....Just to give you an idea. If you went with a super 40 you might get deeper sound. Good reference to what yours might sound like with the same setup because my truck is a ZR2...hope this helps!
SOUNDS NICE! It does have a great idle sound. Being a V6, it has a bee buzz at higher rpm's which is expected. But wow... idle almost has that great V8 sound. I want to hear the Super 44's on a 4.3l!!! :D

Good looking ZR2. Congratulations!
Just some thoughts on some of your list.
RIMS: Did you try summits search? I thought I remember an option for filtering according to backspacing.
Stick on hood scoops: My opinion is NO. Unless you're talking about the ones were you cut the holes and they actually function, but I think with the amount of work and potential problems with those, you'd be better off doing the real thing.
Stripes: Haven't seen them on many 4x4's, but I've considered the same for mine, and I think they'd look good.
Spare tire cover: To the best of my knowledge, ZR2's didn't come with a matching rim on the spare tie carrier, they just came with a "spare tire style" steel rim. So someone spent the money to get a nice rim and have it mounted to match the rest--seems like you see this on a lot of Jeeps, too. So it's you're call on weather you like the covered look and keep it protected, or if you'd rather show off your set of matching rims. Of course if you get a new rims, you'd either want a matching one there or to put the cover on. I have seen a few ZR2's with the matching rim, so I'm not sure if that was an option or just a trend for owners to do.

But the Z has 6" BS. what to do?
Are these the exact same rims as on the non-ZR2 4x4's? I wasn't sure if they made them with different backspacings.
As far as having a different backspacing, if it was mine, I wouldn't mind if they stuck out a little more. I just wouldn't go the other way.
Slacker- What's your reason for no glass packs? I would NEVER want a ricer exhaust or a fart can.
Treason- Thank you for the input. I'll check Summit.
Brat- That's awesome that a chick loves big 4x4 trucks and badass exhaust!! Even better that you seem to have some knowledge too! Your boyfriend is a lucky guy! LOL
All the other's- Thank you for the comments!

large majority of the knowledge i have gained comes from the people on this site :-] they are great help!

lol and by the way with the bee sounding for the exhaust it will sound a lil diff when taped because the recorder doesnt pick up all tones like if you try and video subs going off you cant here them.
The truck looks excelent. I believe the ZR2 trucks came with a matching wheel for the spare because they did not have a cover on it. As far as custom wheels, American racing baja's are hard to beat
Mine came with the matching rim too... as well as a cover, but it ripped - just became dry rotted.
Anyhow, looks really clean! Nice ride - I always liked that Blue. I'm anxious to see how you new decals look. Mine came with a little different ZR2 decal than most, so I'm keeping it....
Nice looking Z. would go with flowmaster exhaust

Thank you for the added info. I'm starting to think they all sound alike. LOL Still waiting on a parts shipment....

Nice ride. Get it out and enjoy it.
Check out http://www.4wheelparts.com/CT11.aspx# for wheels. I have a 90 S 10 Blazer and found them helpful when looking for wheels. As for exaust the 40 is it.
Got a pic while I was taking the fog light pics.
Mods at this point: Mud flaps, fog lights, ZR2 decals, step bars, CAI:

I like the ZR2 decals and nerf bars. I don't like the gold bow tie on the mud flaps... I like the blue bow ties so much more. Any interest in painting them?
There is a local BlaZeR2 that I've seen twice that has the bow ties on his badges painted a gloss black. I've considered doing that or maybe chrome if I can find a quality way to paint it. I was told w/ a chrome front bumper that my truck needed more to compliment it.

if you find an effective way to paint them let me know....painting the rubber is hard as paint would crack, peel, etc. I bought floor mats off ebay that showed a black bowtie and got them gold. I kept them cuz it took forever to get them shipped to me and figured i'd just paint them black or blue. Well it didn't work. I took a black sharpie to them but its fading and the gold is shining through...
Z looks great Tom. mud flaps don't look too bad but x2 on the gold...
Yea... I totally agree on the gold bowtie. I cannot find blue or even red anymore. Painting? Well, it didn't cross my mind because it is rubber and probably wouldn't stick very long and bad color is better than bad paint. :D
Thanks Heather!!

Just get some NakedLady ones or BackOff yosemite sams

Yeah, I'd say you're right; bad idea.
Ebay has some red ones, but not sure if it's worth it to you since you've already got those.

That's only for a pair, but that store has multiple pairs listed. I have a set of 4 like the ones in that auction except w/ the blue. But I'm hanging onto them as I think they'll be going on my blazer.
Hmmmm.... I think I paid $15 a pair for the ones I got. Blue would have been perfect and I did look for a different color to no avail.
I don't think throwing away $30 is good sense and they just wouldn't look right on the Vette. LOL

When it comes to exhaust, if you're looking for something pretty loud, then this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=8VilB8DsRoI&feature=related is the way to go.
If you want more power, with a nice deep tone, but not too obnoxious, then and 18" stainless steel magnaflow would be my choice. When i'm not running the straight pipe, i have a dumped magnaflow.
and i'd recommend www.synergyoffroad.com (http://www.synergyoffroad.com) for where to get it.
