how hard would it be to swap a 1988 2.8L out of a gmc jimmy out for a newer(ish) 4.3L out of a 1998+ truck?

Id need engine and harness, anything else?

edit, forgot to mention its a 4x4 auto

bumpo, ok,

so id need

Mounts

Harness

ECU

Engine out of a 4x4 (obviously)

anything else? i figured id just bolt this up to the 700r4 thats in the truck and go (its a newer rebuilt 4x4 700r4)

Anything else i forgetting?

I want to turn this truck into a dependable vehicle with the power to tow/ go offroad ocasionally. I figured id go and get a newer 4.3, slap some boltons on, drop it in and have somefun

The 700R4 in behind the 2.8 has a different bolt pattern than the 4.3/SBC one. Youll need the trans too.
