To run the OEM 2 piston calipers, from blazers, you'd need to swap over the spindles. Why not get a hydroboost set up?

X2. The Dual Piston is on the 2wd and 4wd models. Both require a spindle change if you have the single piston calipers now. The DP version has the seperate rotor on the bearing hub....which are pricey and less reliable. IMO, do the HBoost kit and some EBC pads. Get a RWDisc kit if you still have the need for more.

The hell with the DP setup. I hear bad things about the hubs going bad. Hydro Boost, LT1 or C5/ C6 brakes are the way to go.

I disagree. The removable rotor is actually a cheeper unit. To correctly replace the rotor in the 2wd trucks, a new rotor, new grease seals, and new bearings are required. This comes to well over 100 dollars, where as to replace 2 rotors in the captured style like the 4wd and some 2wd blazers is around 80-90. As far as reliable, im not sure what you are getting at, stopping quality is better with the captured rotor, heat dissapation is much better due to the lighter weight, and imho, its a lighter unit all together, the hub assembly and rotor in my 03 weigh considerably less than the rotor in my 87.

Yea I had to replace one of the hubs on my DP setup it cost around $250 my cost from the dealer ouch!
I am using stock rotors right now with gm ceramic pads. It will stop on a dime!

How many miles were on it when you did the hubs? I got 50K and they are going strong. knock on wood.

Blue388 touched on my point Tommy. Sorry I wasnt clear. Yea the removable rotor is a bit better and that part is cheaper, but when I priced the bearing hubs, they were what was expensive. At the salvage yard those go fast! And that part I heard wasnt very reliable either. Since the regular type is re-packable/servicable, they will last much longer IMO.

The blazer my set came off had 36K it needed the hub soon after I installed them on my truck I would say 45k or so. One hub died the other is still going fine must of been a bad one to start with.

I had to get one replace when I curbed the truck. I don't think they do good with a side load. But with regular driving and good alignment I think they are fine. But then again I gotta feel that way cuz I got them. lol
