Hi all I have a noobish question to ask to anyone with a constructive response. I currently own a 1990 Chevy s10 ext cab and I have the opportunity to buy a 1990 blazer 4x4 with a blown tranny for cheap. My question is does anyone know if I could just simply bolt parts (drive train, suspention) from the blazer to the s10 without doing any mods (ie cutting and welding) to my s10?

Welcome to the Planet, first off. Yes, drive train is all a bolt in.. at the most you'd need to change mounts, trans & some wiring, if it's different engines.. ie 4cyl to 4.3 V6. If you're truck isn't 4x4 than you can't just simply swap over the trans, transfer case, front diff, etc. So.. w/ that said, what are the current engines & drivelines of each?

Is your S10 a 4x4? the rear suspension will be different and the front is different between 2wd and 4wd but the same for 2wd/2wd. the rest of the drive train is basically interchangable except maybe driveshafts (length issues?)
edit: too slow on the post - listen to hammerhead!

Seems the engine is the only piece you could use but would need to grab a 4.3/SBC trans for it to work. You 2.8 trans won't mate.. 2.8 is a 60 degree bellhousing & the 4.3/SBC is 90 degree. Drive shaft from the blazer won't fit the truck, too short.
