I have a 98 S10 2.2 litre truck, 156k miles. I don't have any control over the heat, doesn't matter where I turn the dial, cold or hot, it always blows HOT. I took the control panel off to inspect, there is 3 dials, left is 4 speed fan, center is temperature, right is selector for where you want the heat, defrost, vents, floor, AC. I can control all the functions as to where I want the heat, (these are all vacuum controlled) the center control is a reostat (electrical) 3 wires on it, one wire has 13.8V center wire has approx 8V other end wire 0V. Checked reostat with ohm meter, seems to be working. Assume the motor that is suppose to be controlled is either stuck or bad. Big question, does anyone know where this motor is, or how to get to it? I had a lot of the dash taken out, thats how I was able to see all the vacuum actuators working, can'tseem to even find this electric motor though. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

is it blowing hot, as in high heat, or more of a warmer than ambient temp? Have you thrown a set of manifold gauges on it to see what the A/C system is doing?

It blows HOT, as in "high heat" not warm at all ,I have not tried any gauges on the AC. The compressor comes right on when I put the dial to AC. AC has always worked real good, but now there is so much hot air it doesn't cool it, the AC lines under the hood are cold, just blows hot air inside
Mine does the same thing. Hot heat comes out all the time. When i turn the ac on the compressor comes on but still hot air.

my ac will work fine...for some reason mine will slowly blow hot air out even if its not on..from the floor vent
soo i just always leave the switch on cold soo it wont get soo hot...
My control is all the way on cold and it still blows hot when im driving. It's not the hot feet thing. I think its the blend door.

Check for a broken and leaking vaccum line

if I have EVERYTHIG off, temp control on Cold, and the vent selector wehere ever, mine has always blown hot air, right from the dealership when it was brand new. Its a 2005 GMC Jimmy 2 door. Annoying as hell cus Im not one to use my AC, I like windows open.. usually the hot air comes out at ur feet, so after a long trip, ur feet are sweaty as hell...I complained about it at the dealership when the truck was still under warranty, and they said its "normal"
Thats my $0.02 Canadian..so like...$0.0175 US.... LOL
