the 3rd one looks like cobra rims, if it were me id get the 2nd ones
They are called the "Cobra" wheel and yes they look like the mustang wheel but it has the bolt pattern that matches ou trucks. Yeah I like the Ultra (second one) too, just not sure what it would lok like on my truck.

Here's my truck.......not much but hey it's paid for and runs great.

I like the new style ZQ8 wheels best, personally. Don't care much for the first style.

I really like the 2nd ones or the newer zq8's. I don't really like the others at all. So then the question is how custom do you want to be? What size are the zq8 rims?
Can you find a more head on photo of the 2nd ones that is higher quality? It seems to be lower quality than the rest.

Not to add any doubt, those Ultras are cool looking but Ive seen many of that brand start flaking the chrome B4. Not saying they all do, but Ive seen it B4 on more than one occasion. That goes for Limited wheels too. Here in Tally we have a black college and during Homecoming, the Donks all come out of hiding. Its insane!! But they get every brand of wheel rolling through out shop and Ive seen them all. BTW, the only spinners that are thick, true and exact, are the Dubs. Not that you care. But Ive seen like every known brand and the quality from one to another is a wide range.

On a similar yet slightly different note, what about the durability of OE rims--mainly talking about the clear coat on them? I know the clear coat was really bad on my '93 by about year 6. And the girlfriends '98 mailbu rims were looking pretty rough just before she got rid of it during the summer. Of course nothing lasts forever and it's greatly affected by how you take care of it.
Ok...Looks like everybody on here like the ZQ8's. I like them also, but just wanted to look at my options. Thanks Mike for the input on the Ultra's....I'm not sure they would have looked good with a 5 bolt pattern anyway and oh congrats on the TOTM.
Thanks "TreasonAgainstCaesar for the input on the OE wheels. Question, were you refering to the ZQ8's when you said "OE" or the OE Replica's?
Thanks Chevybrat for the little Photoshop action...Man those look cool.
So with that being said I guess I'll go with the ZQ8's......I had them picked to begin with but was just looking into other options and getting other oppinions. Thanks or the help folks. When I get some more mods done I'll start a project thread on my truck.
Now....anybody got a good set of ZQ8's with centers they wnat to get rid of? :) Let me know if you do.

Clear Cote is paint. So you take as much care of them as any other painted surface. Never buy any wheel cleaner! They are a joke. Either uneffective or harmful. Their focus is on getting brake dust off. Regular soap(preferrably a good car wash) and water regularly and dont let the dust build up. Wax can be applied randomly a few times a year. Now, on a side note about the OEM wheels. My truck had the ZQ8s from the factory. In a rainstorm I did a 180* and bucked into a curb on the right rear. Wheel was very damaged but still held air amazingly. I purchased a single replacement wheel. The new wheel has more or thicker clear than the originals. Most wouldnt notice, but I can see more depth in that one wheel. Its on the left front now. After a few tire swaps its made its way around =) Notes on the ZQ8s : You can buy the center caps seperately, you must use the lugnuts with the black beauty caps. Those hold on the centercap and are somewhat specific. Black beauty caps are $5 for 4 at the dealer here. You can find ZQ8 wheel packages and the induvidual parts chaeaper online. Also the center cps themselves have 3 options. The Chevy cap is chrome with a recessed bow-tie. Like mine pictured in TOTM. The GMC is gray with the red GMC lettering. And litle known is that the '93-'94 Blazer Sport wheel caps fit too. Those are the wheels that came on some 2wd Sport 1st gens (usually they had the 2-tone paint job with the fade graphics) and the wheels look like the Z28/RS Camaro wheel (like T-Mans truck has). Those center caps are gray with a gold bow-tie logo. Stock tire on the ZQ8 is a 235-55-16 which is kind of an odd size. The orig Goodyear Eagle GAs were the best looking 235-55, but have horrible traction and wear. (Notice I have experience in the horrible traction department!) A 245-50-16 looks best IMO overall but the truck would need to be about 2 inches lower IMO. I have 245-50-16s Front and 255-50-16s Rear. Im sure there is a taller tire if you prefer that to fit them easily. Measurements on the ZQ8 are 16x8 and I believe a 16mm offset.

i spun a 180 in the rain too and smacked the rear left rim and hopped the curb i guess i was lucky i had big tires instead of low pro's
Man Mike Write a book next time.......:)JK! Thanks for the info. Some of it already knew. I've been researching the ZQ8's now for about 2 months. I've found them on E-bay packaged up with everything and with just the wheel. I have also found them at a site called parts4chevys.com. They seem to have the best price for the complete package..ie..4 wheels, 4 centers, 4 valve stems, 20 lugs and 20 lug nut covers. All for around $500.00 shipped. As for the tires I'm either going with the 255\55 or 235\60 General Grabber UHP's allaround. I've been told that the 255's will rub on the front but most of the people that have told me that have lowered trucks. Mine is still at the stock height and I'm not planning to lower it anytime soon.
Anyway, thanks for the info....oh and hey, here's one more wheel to look at. Have any of you guys seen these on an S-10?

Ive seen it on a bunch of 70s cars in the 80s. Thats an old wheel design. I have always liked it though. A co-worker way back in the day had those on a F150 4x4. Like a 85 year model.
Yeah, I emeber these were the crap way back in the day. Everybody had these on their cars and trucks in high school. These are from American Racing and are 17x8. Most o the ones from the 70's and 80's were 14x6 or 14x7. You know my dad has a trailer with a set of these on it lol. Yeah I like these and it would look ok with them on it and all but I don' know if I want to go old school with my truck. Be nice to see a dime with a set on it though. These are omly around $110.00 a piece with free shipping. includes all of the lugs and valve steams too. Not too bad
I'll have to think about it. I'm still leaning towards the ZQ's though.
Hey, I know I've asked this before but do you realy think that a 255/55 will rub on the front of my truck since I'm not lowered and will they balloon out on the side too much?
Update. I know that no one on here will like my choice but here goes. Since I've been looking for whels I noticed that everybody seems to be going with the ZQ8's or other 5 spoke type wheels. Since I've never been one to follow the crowd I going a dif. direction. Some think these are ugly....beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
Here's what I'm going with. 16x8 American Racing
http://www.wheelsforless.com/images/are/136.jpg
Don't hate me cause I'm different. I think these will look killer personly and I've liked these since they came out. I think with my choice of tires these will be a grea fit. Also, I do not see alot of these wheels around here so it's a good thing for me if I want to be different. Plus too is the cost. I found a set of 4 of these with centers for $401.00 with shiiping included. Now for a guy whos on a budjet...that sealed it.
So let the HATERs start their stuff.
Later.

No hating here! It's your truck and if those are the wheels you like, you should definitely get them! You're the one that has to live with the decision and outcome, not us. So long as you like them, that's all that matters. Would get kind of boring if everyone liked the same things!

Hey Thanks for the input and support. As for shoes I'm going with General Grabber UHP's in either 255/55/16 or 235/60/16. Got these on our Jeep and love them.
Here's a pic.

Great traction in the rain....don't get much snow in Alabama...and if it does we get more ice than snow and I just stay home and play in the snow and hang by the fire. No reason trashing a good truck. That's why I have personal days.
Question. Does anybody have these on their truck or know someone that does. I'd like to see some pictures of these on my truck....photo shop folks have fun...see the first page.

Curb, backwards, about 40MPH. It still held air just fine. The edge was hanging on by a centimeter or two and was pionted outward like a dagger. It came off when the tire was removed. IDK if I still got that chunk. I did have pics on the truck, but they got lost when the old HD crashed
Well folks, heres what I went with....16x8 MB Blitz wheels....mirror machined finish. I know it's not what everybody would go with...but hey I like to be different. They are made for Discount Tire Direct. They were only $131.04 each with lugs and valve stems and free shipping. I'm still waiting for my conformation e-amil. Total price was $353.16. Here's what they will look like. Now I just need to decide on tires. Will get them here from my local tire store so I won;t have to pay shipping on them.

I actually like those more than your first three options. Nice choice and good price.
Thanks, I looked high and low for a set of ZQ8's at a reasonable price but could not come up with any under or around $450.00. I found a set from Wheels and Caps for around that price but I would have had to find center caps and that seemed to be a problem. Anyway, I like the way these looked and I went wtih them.

Nice. Kinda resemble the Trailblazer SS wheels =)
Yeah, they do don't they...never thought about it. Now I have to decide on tires. Here's what I'm looking at:
235/60/16 BFG Traction TA H's

235/60/16 General Grabber UHP's

235/60 or 245/50/16 General Altimax HP's

245/50/16 Fuzion ZRi's
http://www.tirerack.com/images/tires/fuzion/fuzion_zri_ci2_l.jpg
235/60 or 245/50/16 Goodyear Eagle GT-HR's
http://www.tirerack.com/images/tires/goodyear/gy_eagle_gt_hr_ci2_l.jpg
245/50/16 Riken Raptor ZR's
https://www.tiresavings.com/tires/2276.jpg
Don't know yet what I'm going with. The Raptor's are the cheapest, but the tread wear rating is low.
Whoohoo!, Just got my tracking number for my wheels. They are on their way. Merry Christmas to me...early. :)

Those arent Cobra wheels. Those are Mustang GT Wheels. You are thinking of Torq Thrust Style, or Cragar S/OS.
I bought a set of BFG Traction T/A. 235/55/16 on my ZQ8 wheels. They are so damn nice! Way better than the Kumho Solus's I had.
Hey folks,
The wheels have arrived. I hope to get them mounted on the truck in the next few weeks. I'm going with the BFG Traction TA H 235/60/16's. I will post new pictures when I get them mounted and the truck cleaned.
Later,
Michael
I have a question? Would a 16x8 wheel with a tire fit in the place where our spare sits? I was thinking of ordering 1 more of the wheels I just got.

So did you get any pics of the rims/tires installed?
Think about why you really want it under there. Remember that a rim in that location is going to take a bit of abuse and be pretty covered in road grime when you bring it out. On top of that, seems like the bracket would scratch up the rim pretty quickly.
Not yet. I hope to have them mounted very soon. Maybe this week end or the first of next week.
As for the spare I was just thinking that it would be cool, but Your right it would take some abuse.
I need to re-undercoat my frame before I mount the wheels. I hope to be able to do this later this week in my dad's shop. I'll have pic. soon.
You might think about getting a 16x8 steel wheel and put the same size tire on as the rest. The donut will work as a spare but say you are on the freeway In the midle of no were the donut is not to good for long distance or high speeds.
Just a thought.
Hey folks, Got the wheels on the dime......looks sweet. Chek it out and let me know what you think.
I went with the 235/60/16 BFG TRaction T/A H tires. Those things hold the road like claws. Rained over the weekend and went out to get supper. No problems with traction.
Anyway, enough talk.
here's some of the pictures

x2 droppage after a set of rims always looks good
Can someone do a photo-chhop on my truck and let me know what a 1/1 or 2/2 drop would look like. Don't want to drag the pavment or anything, just lower the stance a little.....is there such a thing as a 1/1 or 2/2 drop?
