CHECK YOUR AIR FILTER!

So, i was working on an OLD OLD Gleaner Combine today..(for those of you who dont know, im a farm equipment mechanic apprentice) and well...customer (old guy) complains about his ole girl runnin a little rough. This combine uses an old Chev Inline 4banger...anywho..plugs were right baffed, cap was all carbon tracked, both cap and rotor were right worn outta the thing, im not sure how the points even opened and closed there was so much crap between them...anywho...I found the date stamp on the air filter to be rather interesting...keep in mind, I believe the Production Year of this combine was 1962.

what are the chances that he just had that filter on the shelf from 1962 to say 2005?? So then it would have only had 2 years of use on it. Just a thought...or joke. whatever.

lmao, no, this guy even said he didnt think the air filter had ever been changed..we just figured he was loosing his mind..lol turns out, he was pretty much telling the truth..
