Lights are on the blink

hey yall,

I have another issue with my new (old) S10.

When I try to use the blinkers both left and right flash in the front and rear. My dash indicators show as follows:

Lft signal = left indicator flashes correctly but all outside lights flash. :(
Rt signal = both indicators flash like hazards and all outside light flash. :mad:

Just got a ticket 2 days ago because lights look like flashers. :shake_125

Any ideas, anyone

I tried the flasher to no avail and I also tried changing the fuses. Still nothing. Any other ideas?

What year is the truck?

It's an 87 6cyl 2.8L.

No Mods yet only had it a couple of weeks

Looking at the schematic, it looks like the only thing that would make it perform that way is a defective signal/flasher assembly. Located inside the steering column.

That was the second time that I heard that yesterday. When I said that I changed the flasher, it was just the little one plugged into the fuse panel. I Did not know that there was one burried inside the column.

Do you have a pic of that schematic you could forward to me to look at?
