Thats going to be really loud!!!
I would go with something like a mini turbo muffler with a "X" pipe.

If you're describing the 4.3 a 2.25" Y to 2.5" exhaust system would be more than enough IMO. The stock cat is already a 'high flow' & is about 2.5 in 2.5 out. 2.5" single exhaust is good to about 300-350 hp.

Check out the thread in exhaust 'Sound Clip II'. Its a 2.25" to 2.5" Y-pipe like Jason listed, I have a Magnaflow Cat (stock is plenty free-flowing/my stocker was bad) and a Flow Super40 si/so 2.5inch. The pre-cat was deleted and there is a pic of it on that thread as well. 3inch is not needed on the V6.

the 2.5" piping makes it sound pretty deep right?

If the headers I made fit, I plan on making a full 2.5" exhaust.. Y pipe & everything (just gonna reuse cat & force 40 series muffler). I think the muffler was a 2.25 in/out, not like that matters cause I've got a welder & stuff to cut things up, so I'll weld in some 2.5 pipe to/out of it. I just used a 3" collector because that's what I've got layin around. I think I'll take the other 2 collectors I cut off & make some reducers to go from 3" to 2.5".. don't look for the schizz to happen quickly because I procrastinate.. but expect it to get done in a few mins/hours once I'm ready to go. Wooo-wooOOOO

Should sound pretty nice, yea. Maybe not so much like a 6cyl. Listen to Mike's setup. It sounds pretty good, IMO.

Depends.. could just be a loose heat shield. At the worst it could be breakin apart on the inside.

Oh BTW.. you can go scrap you used cats & the people at the recucling place shoud give you a couple bucks. Out here I can only get $3-15 a cat. Last one I brought in was $6.. just found it on the divider in the road. Hopped out & tossed it in the bed. Paid for lunch. haha

Don't know out of Chicago but I just go to the guy that takes alum, copper, brass.. he also takes batteries (lead), alternators, starters, radiators, rims & cats.. plus a few other things. He always gives me pop corn & a raffel ticket whenever I go there, problably cause I'm a regular.. hehe. If anything just look up recyclers in the phone book & call a few places to see who's got the best price for it. You may even be able to get $15, IDK.

Yea! I have to go to the steel/iron scrap yard if I have any ferrous metal. I cleaned out the garage & took down the pool, had a 900# load & got $18 because scrap metal's only at $0.02/lb. But then we've got the mexican junk guys runnin around grabbin all the scrap they can. Pretty good money in it if you have regular 'spots' or 'hits'.
