I just bought mine for $150 then I got new bearings and shims for about $50 don't forget the lube go synthetic for about $10 a bottle you need 2. Say we're at $225 add labor I figure they'd charge 2 hrs at anywhere from $75 an hour. It's just about right.

Sounds like a reasonable good deal. That's about what I ended up paying.

Depends on the year I think, I want to say 1999 and up is 28 spline axles but don't quote me on that.

'89-up GM switched to 28 spline axles. So, yes, it works just fine.. & I'm living proof.

I need to put mine in this week I'm waiting for my new bearing splitter kit so I can pull the old carrier bearings. I'll keep an eye out for one for ya or you could just wait till I'm done with mine.

I'm glad this is an automotive forum, because if I found this in the open forum I'd say it sounded pretty freakin queer.
