Sound clip for just tips? The sound wouldnt change much or might not change at all.

Personally I don't think the sound would change at all.

It would change the pitch a slight bit actually, but not enough to really matter. In my profession I have to have a good ear for sounds. So its not uncommon for me to hear things others do not. But still, its not gonna be anything to seek out. Its more style.

yeah the sound changes if they are true square tips. If you set 2 trucks side by side with the same exhaust except for round and square, ull hear a difference like someone said a pitchy difference

yeah can hear the difference in persn but its so small of a difference u couldnt possibly tell with a sound clip, i wanna get the square ones coming out the right side in front of the rear tire cut into the body a little bit

Not a s10, but a 4.3L silverado

P.S., I feel for the dude... a 4.3L in a extended cab fullsize. Yikes, my regular cab short bed is as large as I want to go with a 4.3L

damn... thats a lot of truck for a 4.3

Silverados are going to have a deeper tone because they don't have the anorexic Y pipes that the S trucks do. To me this sounds kind of like Mike's truck w/ the custom 2.25" Y pipe & pre-cat elimination.

I didn't realize the s10 platform uses a different Y-pipe.... mine is stock 2.25" pipe that meets at a 2.5" pipe & ball flange. I've the same Y-pipe that the V8 silverados have

Ours is about 1.75"(if that.. it might even be 1.5") into about 2.5" then a pre-cat & then the main cat. It's 2.5" from the cat to the muffler & then 2.25 after the muffler.. pretty screwy exhaust setup from the factory if you ask me.

x2 i was thinking the same thing, being a full size with that motor

lol Tips change sound quite a bit.....maybe not as much as cutting a cat off or changing the muffler type....but the size, shape and even the depth of a tip will change the sound dramatically....IMO the square tips unless you get some thick ones make a more tinny sound. Even the better made square tips will raise the pitch of your exhaust and make it more tinny sounding than a round or oval tip will....especially like a 3 1/2" tip....a 22" long 3 1/2" tip will deepen your exhaust noise quite noticably

A 5 gallon bucket used as a tip will.. make the ricer kids go crazy for it!

I own a muffler shop and still have yet to put on a fart can.....and yes I've worked on some very nice souped up hondas and acuras....the 22" 3 1/2 tips are most commonly used on pickup trucks that have duals out the back

I noticed a slight change in tone(deeper) when my 2.25" tips were swapped for the 3" tips. It's nothing outrageous in difference but if you have a good ear for things like that, you can notice it.

it depends on the length and size of the tips as to if they would change the sound....my buddies whole system sounds good because of his tips.....but he has 3" square stock main tip and 32" long and it y's to another 15" or so piece and they are welded to the hitch.....makes his 305 silverado sound like a nascar.....each tip weighs like 50+ lbs.
