View Full Version : Liquid Horse Power
Recently I was watching Speed TV, and they featured a product called EXP4 (http://www.exp4additives.com/default.asp) the make of this product stated that it would add horsepower to any engine. So the people of Speed TV put it to the test. The tested a Ford F-150 before and after the product was poured into the engine and the gas tank, and it added 9 horse power. I just thought you all might want to check it out. I'm thinking about buying some myself and trying it out once i get my bravada back out of the shop.
let me know what you think.
i would be leary about pour ins. Sure someting can reduse friction, but for how long and what is it doing to your engine over time.
Their FAQ page won't come up so I can't check the product. I'm not a big fan of HP TV.If you remeber they threw a tornado on a car and gained 8hp and that is the bigest scam product on the market.
Truth is. there is nothing that can be poured into an engine outher than money that will give you a consitantly more power engine or fix a worn engine. You can however clean an engine. I can do the same test with berrymans, sea foam, mavel mystery or 104 on an older engine and show an increas, but thats just because I cleaned the carbon out, thined the oil and/or removed some varnish from the injectors. redused friction, improved fuel flow, and improved abilty to breath in air.
If your engine is worn dumping stuff engine restore, engine honey, and stuff of that nature or merely temporary fixes and in somecases can actually do more damage.
here's what you need to know about your engine: change the oil AND FILTER every 3000 or 3 months(yea even synthetics still need a filter change every 3000-5000) check your belts and hose every 6 months. Check you vacume lines too. check your coolent when you done an oil change and flush once a year(flush every 75-100k if you run dex). Keep you emmisions in good shape and working properly.
Do regular matinance and your engine can outlast the car.
You want more power? it dosn't come from a bottle or a sticker, it comes from blood, sweat and tears in the cranck case, from deep in your wallet, from you bank accout, from under the couch cushins, and those morons that at VISA give you a platium card.

Caveat Emptor bro,always.....................Hey now Stacey even with the mullet is one cool mofo!!I got to actually meet him at a car show in Gatlinburg TN.Don't let some of the cheesy show fool you he knows his **** better than all the others on that power block combined. He just sit and talked trucks and cars with a bunch of us gearheads for awhile. You can tell when someone is being coached to look like they know what they're talking about and when they actually do know.Horse Power TV is ok but nothing to get excited about. The rest of the power block are slightly interesting at best. But Stacey is the only show I actually watch and enjoy.I loved project Copper head. That truck was just sweet as hell.He was the first tv show that installed a supercharger on a S10.If you have been watching the show from it's start you will remember it.Fast little truck.I think it was a vortech.I watch that show faithfull. The fact that the show caters to us truck guys is super cool. And he does a good job of it.
