OEM Dash Speaker Plates : This is a pair of OEM Dash Speaker Plates. They replace the 4x6 coaxial in upgraded Delco audio systems and add a tweeter. The tweeter is angled to disperse the highs off the glass.
They are from a 2nd Gen vehicls but can be used in 1st Gen if you are adding componets (mids in the door or kick panel).
Most 2nd Gen trucks (reg cab) have 4x6 speakers in the dash on the Front output and 6.5s in the door on the Rear outputs.
Most 2nd Gen trucks (ext cab) have the 6.5s in the door on the Front output and 4x6s in the rear pillars on the Rear outputs. In ext cabs the dash is left blank, unless it had the Premium Delco audio.
Most 2bd Gen SUVs have 6.5s in the front door on the Front outputs with these tweeters in the dash (only Premium Delco audio) and 5.25s in the rear door on the Rear output.
****These would be useful in a Truck Ext Cab to add the Premuim-Style audio or a custom set of componets without adding extra holes for a stealty look.
****These would be useful in a Truck Reg Cab to add a custom componet set without adding extra holes for a stealthy look.
****These would also be useful in a SUV to add Premium-Style or add componets without adding extra holes on models that do not already have these.
Also could be added to a 1st Gen truck if you were placing a componet set in with the mid in the door or kick-panels. This allows you to securely put the tweeters up higher and in a stealty location (OEM 4x6 dash opening).
I have 2 pairs. One has a pair of tweets (condition unknown and probably not working) and the other pair is bare.
