I wonder what it would take to swap it? It has a TPI-stule TBody and external port injectors. Hmmm?? 2003 4.3 is what I would use it for.

i wouldn't waste the time with the typhoon/syclone intake and heads and cam. they're all pretty crappy, be better off with l36 heads or vortec heads and a carb intake modified for fuel injection and the cam is the smallest gm ever put in the 4.3

I used to live in Hearne. It's about 80 miles south of Waco and about 20 miles from Bryan/College Station.

I had a freind back in the day...female...who I heard moved over there and was living in Waco. Not sure exactly, but I think she was involved or married to a Seviceman. I was just curious =)

the stock bottom end has gone into the 11's. as far as the intake it is not at all crappy. the stock heads suck. every body is doing the vortec's. as far as i know the cam is the same as the lb4 engines.the 412, 415, and 422 comp cam. is what most people are using
Stock heads are the same as the TBI heads. As previously stated...junk, but the best they had avaliable at the time (remember this is a 14y/o truck were talking about)
If you read the auction, the guy says he removed it to do his v8 swap....wow, ive never seen a truck drop 10k in value so fast

i know the intake isn't total crap but if you're gonna convert you might as well do it right. and your head selection is limited by that intake. i've seen all the cam specs somewhere and a l35 is a reasonable upgrade.

You can put the sy/ty intake and plenum on the vortec heads. But you have to drill/tap the vortec heads for the old style pattern.
The lower intake will need to be welded on top/bottom since the vortec ports are much bigger taller/lower.
I think the Marine intake is a easier and better way to go after doing both personaly. The cast iron bottom is heavy but bolts right on to vortec heads.
Both newer and older accrys fit and work with either application with minor adjustments. I'll be using the newer accrys on our tyhooon since the a/c compressor is a more effecent design and is 134a. (i've tried converting ours) and it's just not very cold despite my efforts. Drags the truck way down too when turned on.
Anyhow. Thought I'd share.
