# 3 spark plug
How exactly do you pull it? Its too close to the steering shaft for me to get it out, I can get a wobble extension on it, but cant get it all the way out. Is it because im lowered a little?

Re: # 3 spark plug
not wanting to get my "shaft" misaligned, i opted not to pull it. i just broke the old one off so i could get the socket on it and then tightend the new one with a stubby wrench.

Re: # 3 spark plug
Do this : Since youre lowered, remove the left front tire abd pull back the inner fender flap. Lower the jack, making sure that your right tire is firmly on the ground. Next use a 14mm ( I believe ) to loosen the steering shaft bolt near the front of the truck ( at the gearbox ). Take some chalk and mark a straight line from the shaft clamp, to the steering box input shaft and box itself. Then push the shaft off the box's splined input shaft, toward the firewall. You may need a prybar or large screwdriver to wedge in there and free it ( usually they are harder tha older the vehicle ). Once free, use a wire coathanger and hold it up out of the way. Be sure not to twist it, but its not that big of a deal since you have alignment marks. Then you should be able to get to it from the drives wheel well. The rear one can be done there too. Reinstall in reverse and align marks. I had just had mine aligned B4 I did this...and havent had an alignment issue since. Marking and planning will help you come out OK. Easiest to have the wheels straight...if thats a question. FYI, SLP sells a 'modified' Craftsman plug socket for header apps which could be used. They basically shorten it by cuttin down the plug socket side, and then they drill out the 3/8 socket side to allow the plug top to protrude. You have to use a open/closed ended wrench on the machined flat to loosen and tighten. You could make one yourself out of a cheapo plug socket. SLP part # 30102
