Re: burn out help!!!
You'll wear brakes out, you could snap an axle (blow the rear) or driveshaft,... could even blow an engine if you're lucky. But, that doesn't stop some of us from doing brake torques or whatever you'd like to call them.

Re: burn out help!!!
Can smoke the tranny pretty quickly too, blow out pretty much alot of stuff.
I only heat up the hides at the track, the streets are too rough and uneven and you gotta consider the fact that exhibition of speed is a crime. |

Re: burn out help!!!
Bottom line its abuse.
Yes Ive done it a few times in my lifetime. Ive done my truck 2xs...one I have a video of. Basically youd want to hold the brakes long enough to get them turning at speeds and then release the brake to keep the rear shoes/pads from wearing. Once you let off tho, youre going to roll out some and then progressively get faster rolling. In which you are going to have to stop or just lay down the line of rubber. A few ways to stop the roll out is to chock the front tires to keep it in place. You could lay down alot of water, so that you dont start picking up traction as the rubber tires get sticky. When you start to let off, do it gradually. A sudden 'catch' from the tire-speed being 40MPH to 0 will possible break and weaken the driveshaft, universal joints, tranny inside, differnetal componets, etc. It does look cool, but dont do it too much. Like I said, its abuse and were enthusiest of vehicles...not abusers. Mine : http://videos.streetfire.net/video/J...ing_118214.htm

Re: burn out help!!!
My little 4x4 ZR2 will burn the tires right off the rims...
I have positive traction and can smoke my tires for over 150 feet... I only indulge myself this pleasure when its hotter than the hinges on the gates of hell and the road is like molten lava.... Caution is my watch word

Re: burn out help!!!
line lock is a brake soleniod which costs about $40-45
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Biond...spagenameZWDVW simply turn it on. pump your brakes. then smash that gas pedal. my 99 gmc had the passanger side brake line blocked off. so whenever i brake torque that side had no brakes applied to it and i was able to burn rubber pretty easy. easy to do burn outs with these 4.3l because they are torq monsters |
