Setting a tire bead with starting fluid.

Not for the faint of heart !

I set my beads with starting fluid, caught this one on video. I shot my valve stem across the room. This is after many successful attempts. I think the bead caught the nub of the stem. Any way I put a new stem in, and its rolling. 36x12.50 on 15" with 12oz of airsoft and 5 seconds of starting fluid.

If you leave the valve core in the stem its cool cause the tire will suck itself back off the rim after its set.

I only put about 2 quick squirts in the tire when I do it.

When we had Hummer at our dealership we used to have to do this all the time. Fun and dangerous at the same time.

Yeah, I set 4 and didn't have a problem. Yes I removed the cores. The one in the video got caught by the bead as it was seating. It sheared the inside of the valve stem clean off and sent both flying. In the wheeling I do, this can be a necessity on the trail.

A hint, push the side with the valve stem on the rim and lay the tire flat on that side. Then squirt and light from the other side.
