    Camaro wheels on 89 s10

    hey everyone,
as i was enjoying the beautiful weather and my day off by strolling through the local junkyard, i found a few cool things. first off, i found some neat stuff for my f150 (lighning stuff), i found a truck i once owned,i found a set of first gen bravada bucket seats that i thought would look cool in my s10, and i found a 88 camaro RS, fresh into the new arrivals section. i quickly asked the owner about the wheels, mostly because the body and interior were trash, and the engine was on fire before. i picked up 4 15" 5 spoke camaro wheels, with some 235/60r15 tires that will get me through till winter, and 3 center caps, and all lug nuts for 80 bucks. not a screaming deal, but not too shabby either. so they're on, they don't rub, and the truck looks a little happier with them on. so, two questions for all you happy people:
    1) what is the largest tires i can cram on these wheels?? i'm looking at 245/60r15's on the front and 275/60r15's on the rear... ideas??
    2) anyone have one of the black, snap on center caps for these wheels? i only have 3....

and, as usual, i need to get pics up, so you guys can see this beast come to life.

Ive got the caps...but ill be short if i give you one

I ran 245 60's on my rear and they were a bit too wide. Although Im dropped quite a bit more than you are. Ive got some bridgestone 225 60 r 15's all the way around right now and love them. Perfect width imho

Those wheels are a 15x7. If that helps in your search on a tire site of tire sizes to fit the width. But on-vehicle experience like T-Mans is always the best info.

hay Lee, I've got a friend who sells Camaro and T/A parts on EBay his Handel is tommygun006 he probibly has the cap you need, as far as the tires you can get a nice fat tire on the back but just make sure the front are a lil skinner, it will not track right, i put some fat kumho Ecsta's all the way around and it felt like i was on a skate Bord, so i changed the front to 225/60R/16. and the back are 245/50R/16. Handel's and grip's much better, and if you can't find tommygun006 just let me know, ill get you hooked up.

ok, stupid question of the day,
these wheels came of an RS. are they the same wheel front to back?? or are they like the 16" IROC wheels and have different offsets??

Re: Camaro wheels on 89 s10

On the 15s from an F-body.....there is no difference between the front and rear. The wheels are 15x7 with a 4.5" backspacing. On the 16s from an F-body....there is a front and rear difference. The wheels are 16x8 with a 4.5" backspacing up front and a 5 1/8" backspacing for the rear. On the GTA mesh and Formula turbo-tech wheels it is easy to see. The fronts have a deeper lip than the rears do. Here is some helpful info about all aspects of wheel fitments --->https://www.rsracing.com/tech-wheel.html
